Why I’m using 2 planners in 2018

Edit//My first update is here!

This may come as no surprise to you, but I love to be organized and to have my days planned out ahead of time. I’ve loved using a day planner since high school. Knowing what was coming, feeling prepared and staying on top of my work keeps me sane!

A few years ago, I discovered Emily Ley’s Simplified Planners and I never looked back! In 2018, I am going to use her daily planner for home planning and her weekly planner for work, and here is why…

Through the last year of running my business full time, my calendar soon became filled with work, home, school, and all the little things. This became very overwhelming for me, especially since I work from home and doing those ‘home’ tasks are really convenient to do. I would find myself spending my days not working on business items as much as I should, especially when the home list seemed rather long. In the last month, I’ve decided to take all of my work tasks and put them on a separate planner. This has already helped me tremendously! It’s given me a better boundary of work time and home time, and freed up my ‘home’ planner to have more breathing room and white space.

This method may not seem simplified like the planner encourages you to be. But, if you are like me and work from home and are struggling to keep work and home separate, this may be our right solution! I’ll update you around March on how it’s going ๐Ÿ™‚
